                 2008 USA Masters Outdoor Track & Field
                                        Championships
                               

                                 "Collins Wins Hat Trick "

Former Texas Christian University All-American Bill Collins is recognized as one of the greatest masters sprinters ever, and in winning the M55 100m, 200m and 400m national titles in Spokane, Wa, he added three more gold medals to his overflowing trophy case. Collins, 57years old, recorded times or 11.90, 23.99 and 54.11 on his way to gold in each of the three events.

For the tenth time of his remarkable career Bill won the sprint triple gold at a masters championships. He has won the triple seven times in world championship competition, and owns 27 World Outdoor individual titles.

The 42nd USATF National Junior Olympics Track & Field Championships was held at Burke Stadium in Omaha Nebraska. Congratulations to all the athletes who qualified to represent the Gulf Association!

A special congratulations goes out to
Raevyn Rogers of  the Wings TC. Raevyn set a national youth record in the midget girls 800m with her time of 2:13.12, breaking the old record of 2:13.56 set in 2005.

The Gulf Association was well respresented with many of our athletes earning individual as well as team gold, silver and bronze medals. Click on the link above for a complete recount of the meet schedule and results.
